Rit Monge

My brother taught me how to be a bad ball hitter. Not that I ever became much of a hitter anyway, but from early days of playing together I hit what I could get as my younger bro tried to reach the plate. We've rooted for our teams (Brewers and A's) from the 80s until this day. Rich and I have gone from wiffle ball to co-authoring a book due out in March 2012. Our parents took us to many games and someday soon we'll take our sons to several together. We've played together on the softball field (from GW to BnB's to Forresters) and imaginary field (Cadaco, APBA and now Strat-O-Matic?!?) We share a dislike for the Yanks, but Rit did something I couldn't...marry a Yankee fan!?! Rit and Erica are happily married in the Bronx with their Pirate fan Jax! There have been five sets of brother teammates to reach the playoffs together. Hank and Tommie Aaron (Braves 1969), Tony and Chris Gwynn (Padres 1996), Andy and Alan Benes (1996 Cardinals), Pedro and Ramon Martinez (Red Sox 1999) & Jason and Jeremy Giambi (A's 2000 and 2001). Ironically, my brother owns a Pedro Sox jersey and a Jason Giambi A's jersey. Yet, I don't own a Ramon or Jeremy jersey. There are plenty of other brothers who have played in the same playoffs, here's a list from Elias:
